Gerald Matinas &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 July 28, 1996 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Gerald F. Matinas of Richard Street, Kingston, died Sunday at the
Wilkes-Barre &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 General HospitalBorn in Pringle, he was the son of the late Frank J. and
Rose Schmidt Matinas. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He graduated from Kingston High School in 1950; King's College in 1955; and
lived most of his life in Kingston. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Before retiring in 1988, he was a teacher in the Wyoming Valley West School
District. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of St. Hedwig's Church, Kingston, and member and
past-president of its Holy Name Society; Independent Fire Co. 1, Kingston. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are his wife, the former Irene Stepanik; a son, Gerald T., at
home; two grandchildren. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Kopicki Funeral Home,
263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St.
Hedwig's Church. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 St. Hedwig's Holy Name Society will have a rosary service at 8 p.m.
Tuesday, and the Independent Fire Co. 1 will meet at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
