Going on with the Olympics was the right call &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Let the Games go on. We shouldn't let lunatics control our lives. That why
I &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; thoroughly agree with the decision to keep these Olympic Games going
despite the bomb blast in Centennial Park early Saturday morningI first
learned about the bombing when my beeper went off. A friend contacted me at
the Olympic Village and asked if I had heard about it. The officials from the
U.S. Olympic Committee immediately made sure we were all accounted for, and
everybody was, thankfully. There were some American athletes down at the park
when the bomb went off, but nobody was hurt, fortunately. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 One thing that gave me a great peace of mind after this happened was that I
knew my family was OK. I left my parents at the house they were staying at
around midnight. My sister and brother-in-law dropped me off at the Olympic
Village, then went right home. Nobody in my family was near Centennial Park,
which was a great relief. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 This incident is very troubling. Calling the person or persons who did this
stupid is putting things mildly. These are demented people. Nobody called to
claim that they had planted a bomb to bring attention to their cause, so you
have to believe this was done just to hurt people. That makes this terrorist
act even more bizarre. I can't understand why anybody would do such a thing. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 What happened definitely is in the back of my mind, but I'm the kind of
person who is not going to let anyone control me or put fear into me. I'm
going to enjoy the rest of my experience here despite what happened. I'm the
kind of person who believes in destiny. If something is meant to be, it's
meant to be. If I'm standing next to something when it blows up, then I'm
going to go up with it. I'm not going to live in fear over this. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I feel terrible about the people who were killed and hurt because of this.
My thoughts and prayers are with those victims and their families. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 That, however, should not stop the Olympics. The security has been
increased, and I certainly understand why. With these additional precautions
taken, it was a very good decision to keep the Games going. To stop them would
only reinforce to the person or people who did this that they affected more
people than they already have. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 For years, terrorism is something we've seen happening in other countries.
Now, it is something that is happening here at home. We should follow the
example of many other countries by not letting terrorists control our lives. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
