Nature Conservancy schedules events for kids &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Nature Conservancy's Pocono Mountains Office near Long Pond is
sponsoring several events in the next weekAt 10 a.m. Thursday, "Planet of
Plenty" will allow children ages 8 to 12 to play the role of visiting
scientists to explore the unknown vegetation and animal signs. The program is
part of the Conservancy's free, weekly Kids' Conservation Corps program held
every Thursday through August from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Each week there is a
separate theme, so kids can enjoy one or all of the programs. Pre-registration
is required. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; At 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, teen volunteers are needed to help the
Conservancy clean up and paint a rustic barn in Long Pond. The Conservancy's
~"Green Team for Teens" is a summer program for youths ages 12 to 18 who are
interested in protecting the environment. Other Pocono projects will include
clearing and marking trails and litter pick-up. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 For the barn sprucing, meet at the Conservancy offices on Long Pond Road,
2.7 miles east of Route 115. Bring rakes, brooms and paintbrushes and wear old
clothes. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
