Jack Altemose &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 July 28, 1996 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Jack A. Altemose, 81, of West Union Street, Nanticoke, died Sunday at the &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Mercy Health Care Center, Newport TownshipBorn in Wilkes-Barre, he was the
son of the late Robert F. and Mertle Mae Hayes Altemose. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Before retiring, he was employed by J.B. Post Co., Wilkes-Barre, and
previously as a draftsman and commercial artist. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by brothers, Elwood and Franklin; sisters, Mildred
and Anne. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are his wife, the former Lucy Sorber; a daughter, Lori Jean,
Nanticoke; stepdaughters, Mrs. Fred (Jewels) Nichols, Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Jerry
(Deborah) Wildoner and Mrs. Jeff (Tina) Shemanski, both of Nanticoke;
stepsons, Daniel and Arthur Rossi, both of Wilkes-Barre; a sister, Gertrude,
Wilkes-Barre; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A memorial service will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Maple Hill
Cemetery, Hanover Township, with the Rev. Betty J. Poe, pastor of Firwood
Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call at the chapel from 8:30 a.m. until services Wednesday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Arrangements are by the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home, Nanticoke. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
