Gridiron Club to host annual event &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Dallas Gridiron Club will host its annual ``Meet the Team Night'' on &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Thursday, Aug. 15 at the Dallas High School football fieldThe public is
invited to meet the 1996 Dallas Mountaineer football team, coaching staff, and
the junior high team and coaching staff. A photo session will be held from 6-7
p.m., and the teams and coaches will be introduced from 7-8 p.m. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Refreshments will be available. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 L-L Football Club to meet tonight &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Lake-Lehman Football Club will meet at 7:30 tonight at Grotto Pizza,
Harveys Lake. All parents and friends of football players and football
cheerleaders are invited to attend. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The football club will also sponsor a car wash from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on
Saturday at Noon's Service Station, Dallas. Cost is $3 per car. Tickets may be
purchased in advance from any football player, cheerleader, or club member. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Bus trip to take place Aug. 19 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 There will be a bus trip to the Little League World Series in Williamsport
on Monday, Aug. 19. The bus will depart at 9 a.m. from the Back Mountain
Little League field, and the price is $10 per passenger. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 All children who played in the major league division of Back Mountain
Baseball during the past season are eligible to participate. There will be a
waiting list for all others interested. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 Player of the Year &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 College Misericordia softball standout Jen Smith of Dallas was recently
named ECAC Player of the Year. A four-year starter at Misericordia, Smith was
a three-time ECAC All-Star and is the first Misericordia player to earn ECAC
Player of the Year status. She led Misericordia in batting with a .480 average
and runs scored and RBIs with 55 each. She was 18th in the country with 1.25
