 The Lake-Lehman Football Club meets tonight at 7:30 at The Grotto at
Harveys Lake. All parents and friends of Lake-Lehman High School football

 And don't forget the car wash from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, Aug.
10, being sponsored by the Lake-Lehman Football Club. It's at Noon's Service
Station on Memorial Highway in Dallas. You may purchase tickets in advance
from any football player cheerleader or club member. Or, you can just come to
the car wash on Saturday. The cost of a personalized, hand car wash is only $3 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 The annual Back Mountain Antique Car Show and Flea Market will take place
on Sunday, Aug. 18, on the Lake-Lehman High School grounds courtesy of the
Lake-Lehman Band sponsors. Antique cars, from New York and New Jersey, as well
as from Pennsylvania, will be on display. Models range from the early 1900s to
1977. There is still time if you would like to enter a car in the show. Call

 The Sandy Beach Association of Harveys Lake will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday,
Aug. 13, at Joseph Delaney's property on Maywood Avenue. All paid members are

 The Eatonville United Methodist Church flea market will be held from 8 a.m.
until 3 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 10. It's at the church grounds just two miles

 Are you a fan of Doo-Wop music? The N.E. P.A. Doo-Wopp Society will hold
their annual picnic at noon this Sunday at Frances Slocum Park in Carverton at
the Apple Hill Picnic Area - Parking lot #2. There'll be games, fun and, of
course, music. Everyone will be sharing food, so bring a little extra. All

 A Basic Boating Course is held at Harveys Lake sponsored by the
Pennsylvania Fish &amp; Boat Commission. The course will take place from 6 to 10
p.m. on Aug. 20 and 21 at the Harveys Lake American Legion Post 967. The
purpose of the course is to acquaint boaters with many aspects of boating
they're not aware of as well as to let them know of changes in the current
regulations. The course is open to anyone 12 years of age and older and will
allow boaters age 12 to 15 to satisfy the mandatory minimum age requirements
for motorboat operation. They should take the course with a parent. Space is

 An SAT review course to prepare high school students for the verbal and
math portions of the Scholastic Assessment Test will be offered Monday
evenings, 6 to 9 p.m., from Aug. 19 to Oct. 7. The course, designed to prepare
students for the Oct. 2 and Nov. 2 SAT tests, will be held in the gymnasium of
the Athletics and Recreation Building at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Campus in

 Enjoy a free "Night Under the Stars," hosted by Penn State Wilkes-Barre
Campus at Lehman. The public is invited to bring telescopes and binoculars to
the observation site at the west end of Hayfield House on Saturday, Aug. 10,
from 8 p.m. until midnight. The Friedman Observatory will be open for public
viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. that evening. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In case of unfavorable weather, the star gazing party will be cancelled.

 Also, from the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Campus is news of the twelfth annual
Arts at Hayfield summer festival from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 25. The
festival features the work of juried artisans and crafters, live musical
entertainment, craft demonstrations and readings for young people. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 Lake Township residents are reminded that the voluntary recycling drop-off
center will be accepting recyclables this Saturday, Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to
noon at the township building. They'll accept aluminum and bi-metal cans;
clear, green and brown glass #1 and #2 plastic. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 Dallas residents Jim McGuire and Dr. Robert Brown are on the committee for
the Wyoming Valley Health Care's Golf Tournament and Dinner to be held Monday,

 Can you believe it's time to start thinking about the library's fall story
hour. Registration is Sept. 3 through 7 at the library children's room. There
are two separate story hours, one for toddlers and the other for 3 to

Highway selling local corn, green beans, blueberries, melons and tomatoes. The
blueberries are especially plump, sweet and juicy this year from all the rain
we've had. You can buy blueberries at the local stands or pick them yourself
at Sickler's in Vernon or Dymond's farm in Orange. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
