TOUR DE 'TOONA SCHEDULED AUG. 21-25: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 World class cyclists will be competing in Altoona from Aug. 21 to Aug. 25
in the 10th Tour de 'ToonaAs one of the largest cycling events in the country,
the Tour de 'Toona, riders will be competing for more than $100,000 in cash
prizes throughout the five-day event. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Cycling will begin Aug. 21, with a 1.8-mile prologue through downtown
Altoona. In the next four days racing action will consist of an 80-mile
circuit road race, a 14-mile individual time trial, a 90-mile road race and a
30-lap criterium. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Three days of amateur racing will begin Aug. 23. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 NOTHSTEIN, WERLEY TO BE HONORED: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Olympic silver medalist Marty Nothstein and other Olympic sprint cyclists
will race at the Lehigh Valley Velodrome on Friday in the East Penn Bank's
Fastest Man/Woman On Wheels event. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Nothstein, from Trexlertown, and Lucy Tyler-Sharman, an Olympic bronze
medalist from Australia, will be looking to defend their titles. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Tyler-Sharman also will be trying to break the Lehigh Valley Velodrome
three-kilometer women's pursuit track record. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The velodrome will have an autograph session for Nothstein from 6:30 to
7:30 p.m. He will be honored with a welcome home ceremony and a fireworks
display later in the evening. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The velodrome also will welcome home Cindy Werley, of Emmaus, who competed
on the women's Olympic field hockey team. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 PETRILAK WINS AT MOC-A-TEK: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Carbondale's Mike Petrilak won his second straight Street Stock Feature and
his third of the year in the Winner's Circle Trophy Feature on Saturday at
Moc-A-Tek Speedway in Lakeville. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Chris Melovitz of Kingston took third in the event and also won the Pure
Stock Winner's Circle Trophy Feature. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Greg Kovaleski won the sportsman's feature, and Dale Porecca won the
modified feature. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 MCGLYNN PLACES AT FOUR-WHEEL NATIONALS: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Rodney McGlynn of Wilkes-Barre took fourth place in the 1996 Bond Auto
Parts Northeast Fourwheel Jamboree Nationals last weekend in Essex, Vt. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In his 32 Roadster Blown alcohol injected Donavin Hemmie Funny Car, McGlynn
finished the Class 5 mud drag with a time of 2.535 seconds. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 McGlynn also took fifth place in the Class 6 unlimited with a time of 2.642
seconds. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 McGlynn was honored with a special award by 4-Wheel and Off-Road Magazine
for best appearing and car and racing team. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 TRIPLE PLAY CAMP CONCLUDES SEASON: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Triple Play Baseball Camp recently completed its eighth season of
activities for both the regular day camp and the specialty camp. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Included in the regular day camp were the skills and fundamentals relating
to each position in baseball. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The highlight of the regular camp was the selection of the Most Improved
Player and Most Enthusiastic Player. David Davis of Newport Township won the
Most Improved Player award, and Joe Salerno of Mountaintop won the Most
enthusiastic Player award at the Triple PLay Baseball Camp. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The specialty camp consisted of two sessions -- pitching and catching in
the morning and hitting in the afternoon. After two days of intense workouts
the players from each session went through a typical baseball tryout in a mini
camp. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 SPECIAL FOR BARONS TICKET HOLDERS: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 For the final 10 games of the season, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre season ticket
holders who have any unused season tickets may redeem those tickets for lower
box seats and $2. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Season ticket holders may also choose to redeem their unused tickets for a
free upper level ticket. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The bonus for season ticket holders is a special preview they will receive
next season. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Both policies are in effect Sunday through Friday. They are not valid
Saturdays and are subject to availability. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Names are being accepted for 1997 season tickets. Anyone interested in
