HARRISBURG -- Gov. Tom Ridge Thursday announced the award of $1,002,961 to
continue providing comprehensive outreach services to veterans and their
dependents. The funds are made available through the Veterans' Outreach
Program. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "These men and women left their families to protect our families at
critical times in our nation's history," Ridge said. "This program will enable
us to provide the support and services our veterans are deserving of." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The statewide initiative will be administered by the Governor's Veterans'
Outreach and Assistance Centers through the Department of Labor and Industry.
Pennsylvania's five centers are located in Wyoming/Wilkes-Barre , Erie,
Harrisburg, Greensburg and Pottstown. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Program services will include job and vocational training and assistance,
help in obtaining benefits, emergency food and shelter and a directory of
services from public and private organizations to help less fortunate veterans
and their families. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
