AMVETS SHOW THEY CARE -- The AmVets of World War II, Korea and Vietnam
recently held their annual "Because We Care" Program at the Wilkes-Barre
Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This event paid tribute to all
of the hospitalized veterans in Department of Veterans Affairs Medical
facilities throughout the country. Highlighting the event was the presentation
of a $500 check by Gary L. Reph, AmVets PA Department executive director, to
Bradley P. Shelton, acting medical center director. Shown are program

 SINCO EARNS SERVICE AWARD -- Nicholas Sinco of Nanticoke, was recently
honored during the 78th annual convention of the Pennsylvania American Legion
at the Sheraton Valley Forge Convention Center, King of Prussia. Sinco
received the Legion's "Samuel F. Naples" award for his service and assistance
at the Butler VA hospital. Shown at the presentation, from left, are: Legion

Chairman George Lichauer. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; BROWN REENLISTS IN AIR FORCE -- &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Pictured is Senior Master Sgt. (select) Alyce Brown being reenlisted into
the United States Air Force by Colonel William Wetzig, section commander of
the Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Base, Illinois. Senior Master
Sgt. Brown is the daughter of Ann L. Kolbeck, Pittston, and the late Joseph R.
Kolbeck. She entered the Air Force in August 1973 as an administrator and is
currently assigned as Chief, Executive Support Division, directorate of
operations, Headquarters Air Mobility Command. She is married to Master Sgt.
Ron Brown of Warren who is assigned to command Headquarters at Scott Air Base
in Illinois. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 TSGT. KIMMEL RECOGNIZED FOR SERVICE -- TSgt. William B. Kimmel, USAF Ret.,
of Mount Zion, was recently presented a Certificate of Appreciation by LTC
George R. Miller, USAF Ret., director of the Retiree Activities Office, for
being selected as Air Force Volunteer of the Year. The Certificate of
Appreciation was signed by Major General William J. Porter, USAF Ret.,
chairman of the Air Force Retiree Council, for outstanding service in the Air
Force Volunteer Program. TSgt. Kimmel serves as a Counselor at the Retiree
Activities Office (RSO), which is a satellite of the 438th RAO, McGuire Air
