American dream exists for those awake to opportunities around them &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The writers of ``Who Stole the American Dream?'' went looking for trouble,
and they found itPeople will always face difficulty, even in America. They
should have looked for opportunity instead. They would have found it, too --
and more of it than ever before in our history. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; They needed only to look below the fold on Page One of Monday's Times
Leader (Sept. 9). &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A Denver man, once bankrupt, is now making a living vacuuming prairie dogs
from their burrows. His is only one story among millions. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Some ingenuity, a lot of humility, hard work, and prayer were the tools he
used to replace the income he lost. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 We all carry these tools with us, and they are the only true "job security"
we ever have. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 None of us can see around corners. But we can use the gifts God has given
us to react to change in the economy and the workplace. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I did. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 No evil gang of politicians, bankers, and lobbyists conspired to sabotage
my efforts, as the two writers suggest. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 And if I fail in the future, there will be no one to blame but myself. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 That's capitalism, and it's the only system I see working well anywhere on
this planet. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
