LANSFORD -- Marian Catholic broke open a scoreless game with 26 points in
the second quarter Friday, then cruised to a 33-6 victory over rival Panther
Valley. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Quarterback Brent Andrew passed for 84 yards and one touchdown, and ran for
another, as the Colts remained unbeaten, improving to 4-0. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; "It's a great rivalry. It's a great win for us," Marian coach Stan Dick
said. "We're hitting on all gears." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Andrew triggered the second-quarter scoring explosion with a 17-yard
touchdown pass to Rick Balliet. That put the Colts up 7-0 with 11:19 left in
the first quarter. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 On Panther Valley's next possession, Marian linebacker Chris Tierney sacked
quarterback Mike Davis, forcing a punt. The Colts took over on the Panther
Valley 43, then scored five plays later on a 10-yard touchdown run by tailback
Chris Perhonitch. Kevin Rutch's extra point kick gave Marian a 14-0 lead with
5:37 left in the first half. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Panther Valley fumbled three plays later and Marian recovered on the
Panther Valley 38. Four plays later, Andrew scored on a 9-yard run. The
two-point conversion pass was incomplete, leaving Marian with a 20-0 lead with
3:13 left in the second quarter. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Colts used another turnover to set up the final touchdown of the first
half. Marian defensive back Scott Holloman intercepted a Davis pass and
appeared to be headed for an easy touchdown, but an inadvertent whistle by a
referee blew the play dead at the Colt 45. Marian drove the field and scored
on a 7-yard touchdown run by Dave McAndrew with 46 seconds left in the first
half. That gave the Colts a commanding 26-0 lead heading into the locker room
at halftime. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "Our kids tried their hardest," Panther Valley coach John Bozena said. "We
tried different things, and some worked. They played us really tough.' &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Panther Valley scored on its first possession of the first half, putting
together a 10-play, 76-yard drive. Davis hit John Shemansik with an 11-yard
touchdown pass, pulling Panther Valley within 26-6 with 2:31 left in the third
quarter. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Marian's defense stiffened after that, and the Colts finished the scoring
on Bill Rowe's 1-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
