 With 1997 upon us and the tradition of making New Year's resolutions
beginning, I am reminded of a public service announcement I heard on the radio
some years ago proposing we all ``Give 5,'' meaning five hours of our time
each week and 5 percent of our income to charity. What a difference this small
and simple gesture could makeWith this in mind, perhaps this newspaper could
develop a directory featuring the many community organizations that would
