 January 2, 1997 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Robert S. Maturi of Overbrook Road, Dallas, died Thursday at the Geisinger &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains TownshipBorn Baldassare Simone Maturi
on Nov. 30, 1910 in Pinzolo, Italy, he was the son of the late Simone and
Erminia Collini Maturi. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was educated at GAR Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 As a young man, he chauffeured for a doctor in New York. Later, he was
co-owner of Maturi Brothers Cutlery on Lincoln Street, Wilkes-Barre. He then
moved to Frederick Street, Wilkes-Barre, where he re-organized the business as
R.S. Maturi Cutlery, with his daughter, Alda. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a 30-year member of the Dallas Kiwanis Club, serving as president in
1961. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was also a member of Landmark Lodge 442 F&amp;AM, Wilkes-Barre; the Caldwell
Consistory, Bloomsburg; Irem Temple AAONMS, where he was awarded a 50-year
membership pin in 1995; Irem Temple Men's Bridge Club; Prince of Peace
Episcopal Church, Dallas, where he served as a vestryman. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by sisters, Alda and Armida; a brother, Armo. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Doris Black; a daughter,
Alda, Dallas; a son, Ronald, St. Michaels, Md.; five grandchildren; two
nephews and a niece. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from Prince of Peace
Episcopal Church, Dallas, with the Rev. John S. Prater, his pastor,
officiating. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the
church. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Prince of Peace
Episcopal Church, Dallas, or to the charity of the donor's choice. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Arrangements are by the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St.,
Shavertown. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
