Art exhibit to feature the work of Al Sarkas &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Al Sarkas, former art supervisor for the Hazleton Area School District,
will be one of three artists who will be featured in a group show at the
Hazleton &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Art LeagueSarkas will show nine paintings. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 One titled "Western" was featured in the Allentown Art Museum. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 All paintings are in acrylic with some mixed media techniques and are
created by his personal visual statement. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Sarkas is a graduate of Penn State University and took advanced classes at
New York University. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 His paintings have received numerous awards and been exhibited at various
museums. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Sarkas has also achieved state and national honors for his work as an art
supervisor. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 His works are part of many private collections. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Sophia Byorek, painter and Randy Pachence, artist in stained glass, will be
featured along with Sarkas. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The show will open at the Hazleton Art League on Saturday, Jan. 18, with a
reception for members and guests of the artists. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The exhibit will run through Jan. 31 from 7 to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 2 to
4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
