 Lysiak is a graduate of Wilkes University, where she earned a bachelor's
degree in English with a minor in communications. She is a Swoyersville
resident. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced the promotion
of two employees of its District 4-2 office in Bear Creek. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Daniel D. Minor has been promoted to transportation equipment operator B.
Affiliated with the department for 10 years, he previously held the position
of transportation equipment operator A. He is a West Hazleton resident. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Thomas J. Deshisky as been promoted to transportation equipment operator B.
Over the past 10 years, he held the position of transportation equipment
operator A at the Luzerne County headquarters. He is a Drums resident. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Ray Hamad of Pittston has become associated with Northwestern Mutual Life
Insurance Co. and its subsidiaries, NML Investment Services and Robert W.
Baird &amp; Co. Inc. of Milwaukee. He is an employee of the Carr District Agency
in the Courthouse Square Towers Building in Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Hamad attended Luzerne County Community College and Wilkes University. A
resident of the Wyoming Valley for 10 years, he previously was associated with
a family-owned business and an insurance and financial services firm. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 As a Northwestern agent, he will offer life insurance, disability income
plans, annuity plans and investment securities. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 APPOINTMENTS &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Deanna Woodward and Barbara C. Yencho have been elected to the board of
directors of the Visiting Nurse Association of Luzerne County. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Woodward, of Drums, is a graduate of Columbus Business University,
Columbus, Ohio, and is an account executive for Laputka's Hazleton Insurance
Center. She will serve on the Visiting Nurse Association/Home-Health Services
Board. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Yencho, also of the Drums area, has been appointed to the VNA/Management
Services Board. She is a graduate of Wilkes University and an employee of
Diversified Business Forms of Luzerne. She also is a member of the Hazleton
Chamber of Commerce. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Visiting Nurse Association is a non-profit agency with offices in
Wilkes-Barre, Hazleton and Clarks Summit. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 RECOGNITIONS &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Eric Linde of Honesdale has been named the 1996 Contractor of the Year by
the Pennsylvania Utility Contractor's Association. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Linde joined Linde Enterprises in 1966, serving first as vice president and
then, for 28 years, as president. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Currently he is president of E.R. Linde Construction Cop. and vice
president of Leeward Construction. He has served on the PUCA board for 25
years, including two terms as president, and currently is the northeast
regional director to the board. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Nationally, he has served 20 years as a director on the board for the
National Utility Contractors Association. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He also is part owner of Northeast Sports Ltd. and is a partner in Jadwin
Associates, which owns the CVS building in downtown Honesdale. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 Leisa Campbell has been named the top listing agent for the Century 21 Ruth
K. Smith Real Estate Inc.'s Kingston office for November. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Campbell, a graduate of Barger and Dell Real Estate Academy, is pursuing a
real estate broker's license. She has been with Century 21 since September
1993 and is a member of area, state and national real estate associations and
the Century 21 Ruth K. Smith Real Estate President's Council. She also is a
member of the Million Dollar Club. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
