 January 4, 1997 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Steve Rock, 82, of Terrace Road, Plains Township, died Saturday at the &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Wilkes-Barre General HospitalBorn in Hudson, Plains Township, he was the
son of the late John and Eva Glowatch Rock. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He graduated from the former Plains Memorial High School in 1933 and earned
a bachelor's degree from East Stroudsburg State Teachers College. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a
special officer and fought in several campaigns. He also received the Combat
Infantry Badge and the Asiatic Pacific campaign medal with two bronze battle
bars among several other decorations. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a section chief at the
Tobyhanna Army Depot. He also was employed at the Veteran's Administration,
Wilkes-Barre, and as a teacher by the Plains Township School District. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a life resident of Plains Township. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Cathedral,
Wilkes-Barre, and Plains American Legion. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by brothers, Peter, Metro, Michael, and John; and
sisters, Nettie Scutt, Eva Ferrance, Mary Suseck, and Helen Monko. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Ceil M. Pietrzak; a
daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Elaine) Shivell, Endwell, N.Y.; and three grandsons. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Mark V. Yanaitis
Funeral Home, 55 Stark St., Plains Township, with Requiem services at 10:30
a.m. in Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hudson. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Parastas services will be held at 7 p.m. by the Very Rev. Joseph Martin,
pastor of Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Cathedral. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
