 January 5, 1997 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; James W. Brown, 67, of Mineral Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday at the &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Hospice St. John Inpatient Unit of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Plains TownshipBorn July 22, 1929, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the
late William and Edith Williams Brown. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He graduated from Wilkes-Barre schools. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was employed by Roth American Inc., Wilkes-Barre, for several years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He attended Holy Savior Church and was past commander of American Legion
Post 199, Parsons, Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Catherine Murray in
November 1996, and a sister, Ruth Peduto. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are a son, Robert, Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Betty Evans, Inkerman,
Jenkins Township; Shirley Phillips, Corning, N.Y.; and Jane Schenck, Jackson,
N.J. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the E. Blake Collins
Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m.
in Holy Savior Church. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
