 DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE MOVES: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue District Office has moved to the
Thomas &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 C. Thomas building, 100 E. Union St., Wilkes-BarreThe Department of Revenue
is located in suite 201 and the Bureau of Motor Fuels is located in suite 202.

 TOBYHANNA TO HOLD EQUIPMENT SALE: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Tobyhanna Army Depot will hold a sealed bid sale of supplies and
equipment at 10 a.m. on Jan. 22. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office at the depot will oversee
the sale of medical and electrical components, tires, hardware, canvas, wire
and cable, packing material, office furniture, scrap metals and other items. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Property to be sold can be viewed from 8 a.m. to noon, Monday through
Friday until Jan. 21. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Bids may be dropped off at the office or sent by fax to (908) 323-7374. All
bids must be received no later than 10 a.m. on Jan. 22. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Bidders are asked not to call the office for bidding results. Successful
bidders will be notified first and contracts will be mailed to the office. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Payments will be accepted at Tobyhanna from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. on Jan. 28 and
from 8 a.m to 2 p.m. from Jan. 28 through Feb. 14. The office is closed on
weekends and holidays. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Payments can be made by cash, certified check, Mastercard and VISA. All
property must be paid for and removed by Feb. 11. Loading hours are between 8
a.m. and noon and 12:30 and 3 p.m. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 COUNTY COMMISSIONER TO SPEAK: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Luzerne County Commissioner Tom Makowski will be the featured speaker at
the Pennsylvania Economy League's Luzerne County membership forum, scheduled
for noon Friday at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Makowski, chairman of the commissioners, will talk about the emerging
issues and problems the commissioners face in financing and managing Luzerne
County. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The league sponsors two forums a year that are designed to discuss the
league's activities and update its members on public policy issues of local,
regional and statewide importance. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 MATTEL OFFERS REFUNDS ON DOLLS: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Mattel Inc. is withdrawing its popular Cabbage Patch Kids Snacktime Kids
doll from store shelves and offering consumers $40 refunds in response to
about 100 reports of children getting hair and fingers caught in the doll's
battery-powered mouth. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Mattel also said it would withdraw the toys from store shelves throughout
the United States and end plans to market them in other countries. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 To get the refund, owners should send the dolls to Mattel's Chino, Calif.,
distribution center along with their names and addresses. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The refund program is only for Cabbage Patch Kids Snacktime Kids dolls, and
not for any other type of Cabbage Patch doll, Mattel said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 To receive refunds, dolls should be sent to: Mattel Distribution Center,
14310 Ramona Ave., Chino, Calif. 91710. Returns should include a note clearly
indicating the consumer's name and address. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 For information, consumers can call Mattel at 1-800-335-1700 Monday through
Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
