 Board plans hearing on residential rezoning &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The Board of Supervisors announced Wednesday that a public hearing will be
at &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 8 p.m. Feb. 12 to hear comments regarding a rezoning request by a property
owner on Mount Olivet RoadRobert Steiner has requested that 23 acres, now
zoned A-1 (agricultural) and C-1 (conservation), be changed to R-1
(residential). The rezoning is for the purpose of creating a single-family
residential development, said township manager Jeff Box. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Box said the purpose of the rezoning is to reduce the minimum lot size for
each residence. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Although single-family residences are allowed on property zoned A-1, each
lot size must be a minimum of 2.5 acres because the property is in an area
with no public water or sewer systems and must accommodate on-site wells and
septic systems. If the property is changed to R-1, lot size can be reduced to
a minimum of 1 acre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In other business, the board: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Authorized Box to advertise for bids for a tandem drive vibratory pavement
roller for the Public Works Department. The board said $80,000 has been
budgeted for the item. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Presented U.S. Savings Bonds to the following winners of the 1996 Holiday
Home Awards: First Prize, $100, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Getz; Second Prize, $75,
Kristine Kaleta; Third Prize, $50, Ronald Strohl; Best New Entry, $50, Robert
Chamberlain. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Announced that curbside collection of Christmas trees will be conducted
Jan. 13-24. Mulch from the trees will be available to residents at the Public
