 January 11, 1997 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Edward Scoblow, of Brown Street, Duryea, died Saturday at the Hospice Care
of the Visiting Nurses Association inpatient unit at Heritage House, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Wilkes-BarreHe was born in Philadelphia and lived in Duryea for the past 17
years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a security guard. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann in 1995. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. George (Carmella) Shannon, Duryea;
two-step grandsons; and daughters, Cheryl and Frankie. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from
the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 There will be no calling hours. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
