Ferdinand Fowler &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 January 12, 1997 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ferdinand S. Fowler, 84, of Slocum Township, died Sunday at the Davis
Nursing &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Home, Wright TownshipBorn Nov. 7, 1912, in Kingston, he was the son of the
late Robert H. and Myrtle Johns Fowler. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He graduated from the former Kingston High School, Wharton School of
Business, Rutgers University, and American Banking Institute. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was employed by the former First National Bank of Northeastern
Pennsylvania for 46 years and by its successor, First Eastern Bank, Na. He was
vice president of bank branches at Public Square, Wilkes-Barre, Kingston and
Mountaintop. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He lived in the Pine View section of Rice Township for 20 years before
moving to Slocum Township. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of American Legion Post 781, Mountaintop; F&amp;AM Lodge 61,
Wilkes-Barre; Caldwell Consistory Bloomsburg; St. Martin in the Fields
Episcopal Church, Nuangola; Rotary International; and Irem Temple. He was a
founder of the Maple Avenue PTA. He was a former member and treasurer of Grace
Episcopal Church, Kingston. He also was active with the Boy Scouts of America
and was an assistant Scout master for many years while living in Kingston. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Smith in 1990, and
sisters, Helen Losch and Dorothy Flack. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are daughters, Mary Lou Dunn, Chester Springs; Dorothy Jones,
Panama City, Fla.; Bonnie Komski, Slocum Township; a son, Ferdinand Jr.,
Allentown; five grandchildren; a sister, Betty Detrick, Doylestown; and two
great-grandchildren. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from St. Martin in the Fields
Episcopal Church, Nuangola, with the Rev. Frank Sefchick, rector, officiating. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in Albert Cemetery, Wright Township. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Memorial donations may be made to the St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal
Church, 3085 Church Road, Mountaintop, 18707. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
