Charles Rhodes &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 January 13, 1997 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Charles W. Rhodes, formerly of Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston, died Monday
at his daughter's home in South WilliamsportBorn March 30, 1911, in West
Pittston, he was the son of the late William and Ida Rhodes. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He attended West Pittston schools. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Before retiring, he worked as a conductor and trainman for the Lehigh
Valley Railroad Co. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of First United Methodist Church, West Pittston; Valley
Lodge 499 F&amp;AM; Shrine Club of Wilkes-Barre; and Stage Crafters of Irem
Temple. He was a charter and life member of the West Pittston Hose Co. 1. He
also was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Lodge 0498 for 55
years . &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Rosalie Winters in
1982; his second wife, Mae Roberts Savino in 1989; and a brother, Dr. Earl
Rhodes. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are daughters, Rosalie Barry, Quincy, Mass.; Charlotte Zolonis,
with whom he resided; a sister, Helen M. Rhodes, Virginia Beach, Va.; six
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Howell-Lussi Funeral
Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston, with the Rev. Robert J. Herrala, his
pastor, officiating. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, Kingston Township. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Valley Lodge 499 F&amp;AM will conduct Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. today. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 408
Wyoming Ave., West Pittston, 18643. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
