 It's amazing to me that the president of the Hazleton School Board would be
quoted in the paper as saying " I've heard them rumors for years. And that's
just what they are, rumors." It's no wonder kids graduating high school can't
speak decent English, when the president of the School Board talks like that. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I'm calling regarding the article on the municipal golf course. There was a
last line about some hackers. Perhaps some of the board members consider
others hackers because "hackers don't have as much free time as the board
members." The board members golf for free, the board members golf whenever
they want. The hackers are hard working people that enjoy the golf course.
They are no more obtrusive to the greens than anybody else. It's just that
they have less time than the freebies. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I have an opinion about the local radio stations. I can't believe that some
of these stations, especially some of the newer ones like HOT 97, play the
same music, over, over and over again. It seems as if they only have 10 songs
that they play all day. I listen to HOT 97. How many times does anybody want
to hear `The Train' song or `Always and Forever' and other songs like that,
over and over again. They should get a better variety of music, or they're
going to loose a lot of listeners. And, the other stations have more variety
than HOT 97. Even KRZ are getting into that situation, where they're playing
the same songs, over and over again. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Editor's note: Radio station managers say they play what listeners want to
hear, in part based on research. Stations such as WBHT-FM (Hot 97) and
WKRZ-FM, which program a "contemporary hit radio" format, may repeat a song
every three hours. That is normal -- and successful -- for stations targeting
a younger audience, managers add. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 For the Kingston Township police officers: Kingston Township, you guys do a
great job, we're proud of you year round, but with the traffic situation at
Carverton Road, could you please do something to expedite the traffic jams in
the morning, at noon, at night? We're frustrated going to work, because we're
always late, and then comes the frustration when we're backed up past Hillside
Avenue at night, attempting to get home. Can't you place an officer at
Carverton Road to increase the traffic flow? Whatever you could do would be
greatly appreciated. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I'm a Wilkes University student, and I just want to call about Tom
McGroarty. I think he's doing a good job in Wilkes-Barre, but if he's trying
to make it a college town to make it more appealing ... I have one comment
(regarding) Wilkes students and King's students and parking meters. All
through break you never see the meterman going down the street. But (when
college is in session) if your meter runs out in five seconds, he's there to
give you a ticket. That's not that appealing for us. For all the money we
generate for that city, I believe that he should take advice from Scranton.
University of Scranton uses 10-hour parking meters on the streets that
sideline the schools. I believe he should learn from what they've done: making
it a nicer college town. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

meters near the university. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I want to add my congratulations to Gary Reese, the mayor of Kingston. A
few years ago the town was in terrible financial straits. Since that time, a
lot of the empty buildings have become populated with new businesses. The
town's in better financial straits. We've had wonderful services and very
responsive community officials. I think he has been doing a wonderful job in
comparison, especially compared to what it was like a few years ago. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 If the person that had enough nerve to send me the letter that I was on
welfare, why didn't they have enough nerve to go and send me their name? I
would really appreciate it ... the person from Edwardsville or Larksville that
had enough nerve to send me this hate mail for me and my family should have
enough nerve to put their name in the letter. If you have no guts, don't send
me anything like this again. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 After seeing the newspaper on Sunday morning, with the cartoon of Mayor
McGroarty. That cartoon is right on target (with) his swelled head ... in his
short political mayor career ... And I'm looking forward to his first
impeachment as mayor for the City of Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
