 I think it's a wonderful idea that Nanticoke has a city manager. Especially
someone who is out of town and doesn't owe anyone political favors. If the
mayor and council don't know what's going on, as they claim, maybe they should
spend more time at City Hall and ask some questionsA couple of months ago, it
was rumored that the heating oil prices were going to rise because of
shortage. Well, the other day I filled up my tank and I noticed, compared to
last year, I paid $77 more for the same amount, and I asked the delivery man
is there a shortage because of the price you are charging? He said absolutely
not, there's enough fuel oil to go around for everybody, as long as you're
willing to pay. So I think this here is just a gimmick to fatten the wallets
of other people, and we're the ones that have to pay for it. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; About Kingston's Gary Reese constantly saying he has a ... budget surplus.
Why doesn't he lower Kingston's high taxes and give some of that money back to
the taxpayers like he promised he would when he was running for election?
Doesn't state law say the budget should be balanced and not running a surplus?
If so, taxes should be lowered and expenses cut. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I think your newspaper looks very clean, very clean, since you've been
using your new printing press. Very good. Are you sure you haven't been using
it for a couple of weeks and not just this week? &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Editor's note: Some sections of the paper have been printed for weeks with
the new press, but Jan. 13 was the launch date for the entire paper. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I just read in your paper and saw the list that you have of all the people
going to trial for their crimes and for the DUI. I thinks it's a good idea and
hope you keep printing their names and what they're going for. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I'd like to correct something I said about handicap placards. First of all,
I'm handicapped so I wouldn't joke about this. I also know disability is not
visible to the eye. Common sense says I'm not talking about people who are
handicapped. I'm talking about people who use a placard that belongs to
someone else who may have died or if it's a temporary card and no longer has
to use it. I know for a fact that some people who use them do not have anyone
in the house disabled and use it all the time for shopping. Also, it's not
reported because by the time the police come the person is gone. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I don't need 30 seconds to voice my opinion about this matter. This Duffy
case is purely, purely outrageous. You can say anything you want about it, but
I don't believe that anything in Luzerne County can happen like that. Please,
oh boy ... I'm so disgusted with this thing it's pitiful. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Duffy decision is just another of a long line of decisions by judges
who have become dictators and who are eroding our democracy. Judges are
destroying the justice system by making political decisions or by making
decisions based on technicalities. Justice has become a joke. The good old
boys, the politicians, have won again. Judges are not accountable to anybody.
What a travesty. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
