Josephine Remakus &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 January 22, 1997 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Josephine Remakus, 97, formerly of South Walnut Street, Wilkes-Barre
Township, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 and a resident of the Hampton House Nursing Home for the past five years,
died &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Wednesday at the Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-BarreBorn May 16, 1899 in
Wilkes-Barre Township, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Frances
Andrewlavage. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She was formerly employed in the local silk mills and by the Armour Meat
Co., Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Remakus; sons, Raymond and
Albert Remakus; brothers, Joseph, Peter and Edward Andrewlavage; sisters, Mary
Osinski and Bernice Burgess; a grandson, William Remakus. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are sons, Benjamin and John, both of Wilkes-Barre Township; five
grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces
and nephews. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from
the Nat &amp; Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev.
Joseph C. Streit, chaplain from the Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, officiating. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 There will be no calling hours. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
