 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field and grabbed a team-high seven
rebounds as the Crusaders defeated Albright, 83-79Susquehanna's victory
snapped Albright's 5-game winning streak. The Crusaders are 9-6 overall and
3-3 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth League. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Staci Hughes pumped in 22 points as College Misericordia beat Cedar Crest

 Three former Wyoming Valley Conference athletic standouts who currently
play at College Misericordia earned All-Academic status in the Pennsylvania
Athletic Conference for the fall semester. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Cathy Dymond, Megan Burke and Michael Blasick were among 38 Misericordia
students who were named to the PAC All-Academic team. To be eligible for the
honor, a student-athlete must earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.20
during the semester while participating in a varsity sport. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Dymond, a Lake-Lehman graduate, was a freshman on the field hockey team.
Burke, a Coughlin graduate, was a sophomore on the women's soccer team. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Blasick, a Northwest graduate, was a freshman on the men's cross country
team. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The late Joseph Weiss Sr., a noted Georgetown outdoorsman, was paid tribute
at the 52nd annual Sportsman's Dinner, sponsored by the Georgetown
Conservation Club. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The dinner was held at the Wilkes-Barre Township Fire Hall, and more than
125 outdoor enthusiasts were in attendance. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The club's Grand Champion Trophy was presented to Paul Zbegner in Weiss's
memory. John Grencavage made the presentation. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Outgoing president Chet Stavish Jr. welcomed the gathering. Speakers
included Dave Corl of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, District
forester Tony Santoli, Jim Youkoski and club president Dwight Nichols. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Wyoming Valley West Elementary wrestling team placed 22 of 37 wrestlers
in the top of their respective divisions at the Summit Tournament recently. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In the pee-wee division, Nick Cole and Jack Crossin placed third, while
Shane Gavrish took fourth. In the bantam division, Shane Moran took third and
Shawn Bookwalter placed third. For the midgets, Mike Kane, Steven Mytych and
Joseph Wilde placed first; Ricky Pitcavage and William Booth took second;
Randy Shoemaker and Ronnie Fitse finished third; Randy Bookwalter, Mark Wilde
and Neil Mucha placed fourth. In the junior division, Jason Homya and Chris
Quadrini placed first; John Smith, Joseph Andrews and Donny Swainbank finished
second; Wesley Manfre took third. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Noxen Strikers wrestled in the Summit Wrestling Tournament recently and
placed seven wrestlers in different age groups. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In the pee wee division, Chris Barbacci placed first at 40 pounds and
Matthew Shaw placed third at 55 pounds. In the bantam division, Adam Sulewski
placed second at 55 pounds. In the midget division, Matt Dragon placed third
at 85 pounds. In the junior division, John Houssock placed fourth at 70
pounds, Ryan Post placed second at 88 pounds and Perry Coolbaugh placed third
at 88 pounds. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Cassaro-Davis Memorial Ski Race of the Area P Special Olympics will be
held Tuesday at Elk Mountain Ski Area. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Area P Special Olympics, currently with the largest ski program in the
world, is comprised of athletes from five Pennsylvania counties: Lackawanna,
Susquehanna, Wayne, Pike and Wyoming. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The racing begins at 11 a.m. and includes advanced and intermediate skiing
on the West Slope and novice and glide skiing on the beginner's slope. On
Wednesday, there will be a Nordic Ski race at the Village of the Four Seasons. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Marywood freshman Chesla Bohinski scored 11 points and pulled down nine
rebounds as the Pacers defeated Cedar Crest College, 71-51, last week. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Bohinski is a graduate of Wyoming Valley West. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Marywood has an overall record of 3-8. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The nationally ranked King's College wrestling team had its 13-match
winning streak snapped Wednesday when the Monarchs split a tri-match with
Delaware Valley College and host Lebanon Valley College. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In their first match, the 24th-ranked Monarchs dropped a 27-9 decision to
defending Middle Atlantic Conference champion Delaware Valley before posting a
29-10 victory over Lebanon Valley. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 The Wings also defeated Binghamton, 12-1, in an exhibition game. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Mallas led the scoring with a hat trick, and Kowalek added two. Also
