 Marsicano addresses local business persons &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Hazleton mayor Mike Marsicano recently addressed a gathering of Hazleton
business persons at a red carpet breakfast. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Marsicano said he was optimistic about the outlook for the City of Hazleton
in 1997. Marsicano reviewed his first year in office and told the group about
his future goals. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Mayor's program was the first in a four-part legislative update series
of breakfasts being coordinated by the Chamber of Commerce. The series will
feature State Sen. Ray Musto, Rep. Todd Eachus, Congressman Paul Kanjorski,
and the Luzerne County Commissioners. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The next breakfast will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Genetti Best
Western Motor Lodge. Senator Musto and Rep. Todd Eachus will be the guests. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 Judge Stevens returned to committee &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Judge Correale F. Stevens has been appointed to the Legislative Liaison
Committee of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In his capacity on the Legislative Liaison Committee, Stevens will address
issues pertaining to the court system and the Pennsylvania Legislature.
Stevens received notice of the appointment from Conference of State Trial
Judges President James Knoll Gardner. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Stevens has been a member of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial
Judges since 1991 and he is also a member of the Statewide Automation
Committee of the Conference. He previously served as Luzerne County District
Attorney and is a former member of the Pennsylvania State House of
Representatives. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Stevens is married to the former Joyce Slovak and the couple resides in
Hazleton with their three children. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 The Hazleton Chapter of the American Red Cross will conduct a Blood Drive
from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Hazleton St. Joseph Medical
Center. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Blood donations can also be made on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon at the
Hazleton General Hospital's Office &amp; Education Building. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 There is designated parking for donors at the rear of the O &amp; E Building
and babysitting is available. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
