Club making final year special &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The atmosphere at Freeland Junior High School has changed dramatically in
the past few months. I am a freshman and have been in Freeland Junior High for
three years now, this being my last. It's also our school's last year, and, so
far, I think it's the best year this school has ever hadThe students, as well
as the facility, are being cooperative with the things we do. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Our Spirit Club has been doing various things all year. It has visited
Freeland Elementary, held a dance and is always working hard on something for
our school. I can say the same for our other clubs -- Students Against Drunk
Driving, Stand Tall and Student Council -- who also have been working hard
with different projects. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 One of our new events this school year is Spirit Fridays. Every Friday, we
have a "special" day. Funky Hat Day, Flashback Day, Tie Day, Pajama Day and
Twin Day are just some of the crazy things we've done. Everybody can't wait to
hear what we're doing each week. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 We also are having more pep rallies for our basketball teams who have been
doing a FANTASTIC job. Our freshman boys team came in second place at the
Freeland YMCA Basketball Tournament over the holidays. We were all very proud
of them. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Coming just around the corner, on Feb. 14, is our annual semiformal. It's
the biggest dance of the year and will be even bigger this year since it's our
last one. The semi committee will be very busy the next few weeks. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I know everyone would like to thank Eugene Gallagher, our principal; Denise
Mariano, our school secretary; and most of all, Joe Barletta, our vice
principal, for putting up with us and all of our wild ideas. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 But what you've read here isn't everything. We have tons of ideas for the
end of the year, such as a freshmen sleepover, maybe a bonfire after one of
our dances and a carnival. You never know what we'll be doing next, and that's
why this year is going so great. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 It's actually sad for me to think that I never will be coming back to
Freeland Junior High and, after this year, it won't even be Freeland Junior
High School anymore. But until the school year ends, I'm going to keep making
this year the best year I can have. I hope everyone else will too! &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
