 Community Banks, N.A., as manager of its Airport Beltway Office in

 Imbert, who has more than 13 years of banking experience, was a former
retail banking officer/branch manager for First Valley Bank. She is a graduate
of Hazleton Senior High School and earned a bachelor of science degree in
elementary education from Bloomsburg University. She has completed numerous
American Institute of Banking courses, along with commercial lending and
business development courses. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She is a 1995 graduate of Leadership Hazleton; she served as treasurer of
the Citizens' Committee to Beautify City Hall Grounds; she is a member of the
American Institute of Banking and a past member of the Hazleton Area
Management Club. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She is a Hazleton resident. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Rosalia G. Strasser has been promoted to assistant vice president/community
office manager of the Wilkes-Barre office of First National Community Bank. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Strasser, who received a bachelor of arts degree from Boston University,
joined FNCB in 1994 as an assistant cashier/information systems manager.
Previously, she was employed for 16 years by another local financial
institution. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Strasser is a Shavertown, Kingston Township, resident. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Michael C. Dobbs of Kingston has joined &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Mutual of New York Mid-Atlantic Group, McCole-Geary Associates,
Wilkes-Barre, as an insurance and investment representative. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Dobbs is a graduate of Wilkes University with degrees in accounting and
business administration. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 PG Energy and its parent company, Pennsylvania &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Enterprises, have announced the election of JoAnn McHale to assistant
secretary. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In her new capacity, she will serve as an officer of both companies and
assist the corporate secretary. She assumes these duties in addition to her
current responsibilities as an executive secretary to the vice presidents of
customer services and administrative services and corporate secretary. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 McHale is a graduate of St. Ann's Academy. She received an associate degree
in business administration from Lackawanna Junior College and a bachelor of
science degree is accounting from King's College. She has attained the
Certified Professional Secretary designation. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A charter member of the Wyoming Valley Chapter of Professional Secretaries
International, she has served as an officer or committee chair since the local
chapter's inception in 1975. She also is a member of the Executive Women's
Committee of the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She is a Pittston resident. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Joseph L. Vender of the Scranton office of Marshall, Dennehey, Warner,
Coleman &amp; Goggin has been elected a new shareholder of the firm, which
concentrates its practice in defense litigation for business and insurance
companies in the mid-Atlantic states. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 InterMetro Industries Corp. of Wilkes-Barre has announced three
appointments: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Robert Napkori has been promoted to the position of market manager,
Consumer Division. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A 13-year InterMetro employee, he has served as national accounts manager
for the Consumer Division and product manager. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In his new position, he will oversee all aspects of sales and marketing for
Metro's Consumer Division, which manufactures and markets Professional's
Choice, a line of contemporary wire furniture and store products for the home. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Napkori received a bachelor's degree in communications from Point Park
College, Pittsburgh. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He is a Wilkes-Barre resident. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Michael Ward, CFSP, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 has been appointed market manager, Foodservice Division. A 16-year
employee, he most recently served as product manager of the Foodservice
Division. He also has held various positions in the Product Development Group,
including engineer and manager of the Custom Products Group. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Ward will oversee all aspects of marketing for the Foodservice Division. He
also will work to increase awareness of Metro's products for storage,
transport and warehandling categories. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Ward received an associate degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State
Wilkes-Barre and a bachelor's degree in business from King's College. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Donna Owen has been named product manager, Foodservice Division. She
previously worked in marketing management and product development for other
companies. Owen will focus on product management, marketing and promotions. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She received a bachelor of science degree in marketing from Quinnipiac
College and is pursuing a master of business administration degree from the
University of New Haven. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Michael A. Santore of Throop has been named broker of record and executive
vice president of Century 21 Action Realty Inc. of Blakely. The company also
has recently acquired Phoenix Real Estate of Clarks Summit. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Santore has served as broker of record/manager since June 1995. For the
previous seven years he was a realtor associate with Coldwell Banker Realtors. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Santore earned his broker's license at the Penn State Worthington Scranton
campus and completed course work at the Schlicher Kratz Institute in Lansdale
and the Pennsylvania Realtors Institute in Harrisburg. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He has won several real estate sales awards from Coldwell Banker and the

 The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry has announced
that Ronald Knouse, vice president of public relations and administration at
Pennsylvania Millers Mutual Insurance Co. in Wilkes-Barre, has been elected
1997 chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Other board officers are John Levitski of Pennsylvania Power &amp; Light, first
vice chairman; Rick Mebane of Franklin First Savings Bank, second vice
chairman; Anna Cervenak of Bell Atlantic-PA, secretary; and Pat Stella of
McDonald's, treasurer. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Knouse, a chamber volunteer and leader for more than 10 years, said the
chamber will emphasize an open door policy to all businesses and especially

 Kaleidoscope Productions of Pittston, a professional video production
company, has been honored in the national Communicator Awards 1996 Television
Commercials/Programs and Video/Films competition. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Kaleidoscope received the highest award, the Crystal Award of Excellence in
the External Communications/Marketing (Product) category. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Kaleidoscope also received the Award of Distinction in the category of
External Communications/Instructional. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The company received honorable mention in the Public Service Announcement

 Paul Ciliberto, manager of Martz Cruises, was the guest of Royal Caribbean

travel agents and their spouses. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Marguerite Mosack of Kingston has been chosen for inclusion in "Who's Who
in Medicine and Healthcare, 1997-98." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The publication is a guide to 20,000 people in the fields of medicine and
health care. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Mosack has eight years' experience in the Wilkes-Barre area. She works with
a variety of client issues, including anxiety and relaxation, assertiveness,
eating disorders, depression, women's issues, and spirituality and personal
growth. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She earned a bachelor's degree in art at the University of Dallas and a
master's in psychology at Duquesne University. She is a member of the American
Psychological Association, the Pennsylvania Psychological Association and the

 Dr. Joel Neuman, chief of interventional radiology at Geisinger Wyoming
Valley Medical Center, has been selected to present a series of four lectures
on the topic at a national meeting in February at Snowmass in Colorado. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 His abstract, "The Use of CT Angiography for Evaluating TIPS," will be
presented at the Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology
national meeting in March in Washington, D.C. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He also has been selected to serve as a peer reviewer for The Journal of
Computer Assisted Tomography. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A graduate of the University of Miami and the University of Miami School of
Medicine, Neuman completed a residency program and fellowship at Mount Sinai
Medical Center, also in Miami. Board-certified in radiology, he is a member of
national radiological associations. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 Richard Fitzsimmons, Ph.D., director of the library at the Penn State
Worthington Scranton campus, was one of 25 people from the United States and
Europe to present a formal paper at an international conference. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The conference, "Libraries, Books, Ideology During the Second World War,"
was sponsored by the National Library of Latvia and held in Riga, Latvia. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Fitzsimmons' presentation, "Intellectual Freedom, Librarianship and the
Democratic State," dealt with censorship and the role librarians play in
supporting intellectual freedom. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Dallas resident Ellen N. Hunter attended The Pampered Chef's 1997
Leadership Conference in January at the San Diego Convention Hall. The
direct-selling company markets professional quality kitchen tools through
in-home cooking demonstrations. Ellen has been with the company for two years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Seven members of the Luzerne County Pharmacists Association attended the
winter meeting of the House of Delegates of the Pennsylvania Pharmacists

 Bloomsburg University English professor Glenn Sadler has published a
revised edition of the complete fairy tales and short stories of 19th century
Scottish writer George McDonald. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The collection, "Gifts of the Christ Child," includes 21 stories and 41
illustrations by period authors. Sadler edited the original in two volumes in
1973 and mass market paperback in 1980. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Pugliese Eye Specialists has named Lisa Kubiski the employee of the quarter
for fourth quarter 1996. Cathy Thiemann received the award for the third
quarter and Bill Stucker received it for the second quarter. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Jim Gruver was named supervisor of the year and Tom Coggiano was named
