 HAZLETON &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Holy Trinity School to celebrate Catholic &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Schools Week &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Holy Trinity School, 35 N. Church St., is celebrating Catholic Schools Week
through Friday, Jan. 31. The week started Friday. The following events will
take place and are open to the public. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Students will participate by wearing a sweatshirt of their favorite teams.
School uniforms must also be worn. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A film festival will be held in the afternoon. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A karate demonstration will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. in the school
gymnasium. A free-will donation will be accepted at the door to benefit school
needs. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 will be celebrated. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Students will make personal cards for teachers. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Keystone Job Corps will present a music and drama program for students
and teachers from 1 to 2 p.m. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Students will make "Thinking of You" cards for the ill and lonely of the
parish. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The PTG will serve ice cream sundaes to students, faculty and staff. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A Faculty/Student Volleyball game will take place at 1:30 p.m. in the gym.
Sixth grade students will challenge faculty members. All are welcome to
attend. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Mass will be held at 8:45 a.m. with a doughnut social for school volunteers
to follow. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Report cards will be distributed. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 HAZLETON &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Bishop Hafey plans activities &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Bishop Hafey Junior/Senior High School will begin its week-long celebration
of Catholic Schools' Week today with an Open House from 1 to 3 p.m. for
prospective students and their parents. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The program will include information about the school's religious,
academic, athletic and extracurricular activities. Students and their parents
will get an opportunity to speak with the school's administrators, faculty,
students and parent representatives. In addition, tours of the school will be
provided by members of the Bishop Hafey Student Council and National Honor
Societies. Light refreshments also will be served. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Monday's celebration includes a school-wide liturgy where Joseph
Sabolchick, head of maintenance, will be honored for his years of service at
his retirement. The local Spelling Bee competition will be conducted Tuesday
to select the school representative from the junior high school. The Senior
High will attend an assembly featuring Faculty Squares. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Wednesday is National Appreciation Day for Catholic Schools and Student
Appreciation day. Students will be permitted to report to school in the
Alternate Dress Code and will be treated to ice cream sundaes at lunch.
Thursday is School Spirit Day. Members of the school community are encouraged
to wear Gold and White or Hafey clothing items. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day will be held Friday. A special luncheon
sponsored by the Parent Teacher Organization and Alumni Mothers' Association
will be served to the faculty and staff. Desserts will be provided by the
Student Council. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Placement Test for public school students entering the seventh grade in
the fall will be administered beginning at 9 a.m. Feb. 1. Parents may call the
school at 455-9431 to register students in grades 7 through 12 or to receive
information. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
