Respect for life embraces animals, humans, born and unborn &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In response to Richard A. Burke Sr.'s letter about the unborn perishing
while people grieve over 30 deer (Jan. 13), I feel it would be a safe bet to
say that most of the people who are grieving over the 30 deer do not favor
abortion as a means of birth control and would not murder their children or
anyone elseStatistics show that most children who harm animals grow up to harm
people. To have a love of animals shows compassion and respect for all life. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It's the sort of people who would gladly shoot 30 deer "in a barrel" who
are responsible for the conscienceless attitude in the world today. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Who is to blame for letting the deer population get so out of hand at
Frances Slocum Park in the first place? &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Would it have been so hard to count the original amount of deer in the park
and then notice that, in each passing year, the count was higher? &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 If they had done that, they could have either moved a few deer to another
location or administered a dose of birth control to many of them and the
problem would have been solved without any killing. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I know where my conscience is, but maybe Mr. Burke is feeling some twinges
of guilt. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
