 My son and a friend hunted in areas that once had a sizable deer herd. I'm
sorry to report that he had only seen one set of deer tracks at each
locationSince Rudolph is the only deer I know that could fly, I think this is
a good indication that the Game Commission in Pennsylvania is issuing too many
bonus licenses. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Yes, I'm calling in response to the people who keep complaining about Mayor
McGroarty's NIT team. I just want to say you people don't realize how lucky
you are to have a mayor that cares about his town. I live in Pittston City,
and it seems to be the mayor's theory here is the more run-down the better. He
doesn't do anything about houses that should be condemned and demolished.
Their answer to everything is fine them, fine them. You know what, and for the
people who complain, if they can hire a lawyer to sue the township, then they
should be able to maintain their properties and spend that money on that. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 There are two expressions: "Put up or shut up," "Nothing ventured, nothing
gained." I thoroughly want to commend Mayor McGroarty; he's energetic,
enthusiastic, he's motivated, sincere, innovative. This is what this area
needs. We should be called Stagnantville, instead of Wilkes-Barre, and the
surrounding areas. The arena, the voting machines, we need to move forward.
But if you really want to see corrupt, financial mismanagement, backdoor
politics, let's come up to Wilkes-Barre Township, where that's the norm, not
the exception. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Times Leader took a modest step towards improving its content and
credibility when the pusillanimous pipsqueak Corbett's column was
vacation(ing) in Florida. A few suggestions. Send Corbett on a permanent
vacation, and send the hypocrite Tommy Bigler with him. Bring back Dale Duncan
and have a real Times Leader again, instead of the paper in its present form
of The Times Misleader. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Editor's note: A pipsqueak? Corbett is 6 feet 1 and 220 pounds. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Thank you Steve Corbett for your column on probation officer Duffy. I have
never heard of anything so corrupt, so unethical. In my opinion, everyone
involved should resign. How dare these people insult the intelligence of the
voters in Luzerne County. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 This is in regard to the caller in Saturday, Dec. 28th, SAYSO column, who
stated it was morally correct to hire Bob Kadulboski as Wilkes-Barre city
tower. I called you on Dec. 28th, and you never printed my call, therefore I
am calling again. I want to know: How is it morally correct? Whose morals,
Beavis and Butt-head? &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Yes, I'm calling about the police on Tuesday raiding 50 bars, restaurants
and social clubs, and netted 175 video poker machines, allegedly used for
gambling. Isn't this a sin? &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 For that little bit of gambling that these establishments take in. It's
people go maybe for a pizza, and so they're waiting for their pizza, so they
want a little bit amusement. They go to the VFW or American Legion, those are
little peanuts compared to what our state is taking in on the lottery. They
have so many games, so many, many tickets and what have you, my God, give
these little guys a chance. What is our state doing with all this lottery
money? They say they're giving so much to the senior citizens. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Bull! They're supposed to, they used to have a report on what they took in
every month and what they put out. Today we don't know what they're doing with
that money, and we'd sure would like to know. But first of all, I wish they'd
stop the gambling altogether, with that state. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 If it's legal for the state, it should be legal for these people. What are
they so afraid of? What they are going to miss out on? They are so greedy for
that lottery that they want more. Give the little guy a chance and let them
have their poker machines. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
