St. John Bosco sets Mardi Gras &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The eighth annual Mardi Gras will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday,
Feb8 and from 12:30 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9 at St. John Bosco Church
Parish Center in Conyngham. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The spirit of the Mardi Gras is grown rich with church tradition. This
pre-Lenten gala precedes the season of Lent and has for centuries, both in
European and American history, been a time for millions to gather for a
relaxed, fun filled and magical time before meditating and experiencing the
somber spiritual time of Christ's approaching crucifixion. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Children will be able to enjoy a costume parade, puppet shows, a children's
corner, games and activities. Teens can participate in Cook's fast lane
racing, booths, video games and miniature golf. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 There will also be a menu of Mardi Gras dishes such as Shrimp Creole,
chicken gumbo, and traditional and American favorites. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Entertainment will be provided on Saturday evening by Joe Bogwist. John
Gasper, church organist and community singer, will entertain on Sunday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Greater Hazleton area is invited to participate in the celebration. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
