WILKES-BARRE -- Two separate suits have been filed against the Wilkes-Barre
YMCA in the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Lillian Hunter and her husband, Brett, filed suit in August of last year
claiming negligence on the part of the YMCA in maintaining its building in a
safe and proper manner. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Mrs. Hunter slipped and fell on the tile floor near the South Franklin
Street exit in January 1996. She alleges the floor was damp and uncovered. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Mrs. Hunter claims that as a result of her fall she suffered sprains in her
foot and ankle, and suffered various other contusions and lacerations. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In response to the original complaint, the YMCA has denied any negligence
in the case and claims Mrs. Hunter was inattentive. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Hunters are seeking in excess of $40,000. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Keith Gavin and his parents, Tina and Paul Gavin, filed suit in September
of last year claiming that the YMCA failed to maintain a safe and secure
environment for its patrons. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Keith was participating in a high school wrestling match at the YMCA in
January 1996 when he became involved in an altercation in the lobby. As a
result of the fight, Keith sustained injuries to his hands and fingers. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In response to the Gavin's claims, the YMCA has filed a response that
denies any liability in the case. Instead, the YMCA has named Tina and Paul
Gavin as co-defendants, charging them with liability for their son's injuries. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Gavins are seeking in excess of $60,000. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
