regular meeting at the municipal buildingThe topic arose when a resident
pointed out that some employers are deducting 3 percent earned income tax --
Wilkes Barre's rate -- instead of the township's 1.5 percent rate. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Mayor Robert Delscavage said taxpayers eventually receive their refund, but
the problem can take several months to correct. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The council recommends that taxpayers ensure that their employer designates
Wilkes Barre Township on job applications and other records. Use of the
township's full zip-code -- 18702-7635 -- also is suggested. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 If a problem were to arise, residents should contact the township's tax
collector, Don Wilkinson Agency, said administrator Bill Turinski. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 It also was noted at the meeting that the township municipal building and
tax collection office will be closed Feb. 17, President's Day. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
