Say so &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I'm calling regarding an article that was in SAYSO on Feb. 2 from a bigot
who said that women drivers cannot drive in the snow. I'm calling to respond
to this person to say that twice I have been hit by male drivers, one of them
being drunk. There was no snow on the roads and it was a clear day. What
explains that, sir? Should all male drivers be taken off the road too? I think
soPlease remind the caller who wants women banned from driving in bad weather
of all those snowy trip his mother made, which brought him to school,
libraries, sporting and other character-rounding events. But then again, maybe
his itty bitty memory does serve him. Was she home watching TV? &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; My comment is regarding the Tom Leighton-Christina Richardson story. I
think the big issue behind this story is the idea that one man's unwitnessed
word could get so much power out of the police. I mean who does this guy think
he is? Henry the Eighth? He's a councilman. He should have the same due
process as anyone else. I wish that the police would give so much attention to
one person's word, as a councilman, as they do a spouse victim, a victim of
abuse or a rapist victim. All they're told is I'm sorry, there's nothing we
can do without more evidence. I think once again in Wilkes-Barre, it's who you
are. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 This in regards to the oil companies. At the beginning of the year, they
said that the reason the price of oil had to go sky-high was because the
reserves were low. Now we have a very warm winter and people are not using the
oil like normally. The reserves are squirting out the tops of the barrels. Now
the opposite should happen. When the reserves were low they raised the prices.
Now the reserves are very, very, very high so the prices should be dropping by
10 cents a day. I want to know where the profits are going and who's getting
them and what's happening to them. I just hope there's a good excuse for this.
I wish someone at the newspaper would question someone about this. I read in
The Wall Street Journal also that the profits of the oil companies are
skyrocketing right now. Skyrocketing. So someone please ask someone what's
going on here. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Editor's note: The Associated Press reported Thursday that crude oil and
other energy futures declined amid continued concerns about mild weather in
the Northeast and various technical factors. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Crude for delivery in March fell to its lowest level since mid-December
before recovering slightly to settle at $23.10, down 81 cents, on the New York
Mercantile Exchange. Energy prices have been generally declining this year
after a strong 1996. That has pushed down prices for heating oil, taking crude
and natural gas along for the ride. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
