Thomas Calpin February 8, 1997 Thomas J. Calpin, of Cedar Avenue, Minooka, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 died Saturday at the Mercy Hospital, ScrantonBorn in Minooka, he was the
son of the late Thomas and Ruth Shea Calpin. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He graduated from Minooka High School and attended University of Scranton. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Prior to his retirement, he was employed by R.C.A. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Minooka, American Legion Post 568,
both in Minooka; Minooka Lions Club; and the Irish Cultural Society. He was
among the founding members and organizers of the Minooka Boxing Club. He also
played baseball in the Scranton Association Baseball League. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by a brother, James. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are his wife of 47 years, the former Patricia M. O'Malley; sons,
Thomas III, Kevin, James, and Michael, all of Minooka; John, Baltimore, Md.;
Robert, West Pittston; daughters, Patricia Fischman, Sarasota, Fla.; Kathy
Moran, Scranton; Mary Ellen DeSilvio, Lockport, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Mary Eagen Funeral
Home, 2908 Birney Ave., Minooka, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in
St. Joseph's Church, Minooka. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Minooka. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
