PITTSTON TWP.- Officials at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport
evacuated its air traffic control tower for several hours Thursday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Two air traffic controllers reportedly noticed a strange chemical smell in
the tower at about 9:30 a.m. and were evacuated until the fumes could be
eliminated. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The odor apparently came from the tower's heating/cooling system, which had
recently been repaired, said Darius Reynolds, president of the local chapter
of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 While maintenance crews tested the air and worked to fix the problem, the
air traffic controllers operated from a Federal Aviation Administration mobile
van parked on the tarmac. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The tower was reopened at about 7:30 p.m. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
