Joseph Statkevicz &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 December 25, 1997 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Joseph Statkevicz Jr., 81, of Huntington Mills, Shickshinny, died Thursday
at the Berwick Retirement Village, where he resided for the past year and a
halfBorn May 25, 1916, in Hanover Township, he was the son of the late Joseph
and Nellie Gizzelbach Statkevicz. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of St. Martha's Church, Fairmont Springs. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, serving in Great Britain,
France and Belgium. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of the American Legion Post 495, Shickshinny. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He resided in Horsham Township for 30 years. During that time, he owned and
operated Ace Auto Service and Amoco station on Route 611, Horsham Township. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He resided in Huntington Mills for the past 20 years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond, and a sister, Dorothy. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Monica Lueken; daughters, Mary
Monica Mathusek, Glen Moore; Karen Ann Youngers, Horsham; seven grandchildren;
sisters, Gertrude Tomcho, New Jersey; Norma Voytin, Sweet Valley; Nellie
Runewicz, Philadelphia; Marie Novak, Richmond, Va. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Clarke Piatt Funeral
Home Inc., Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek, with a Mass of Christian Burial at
10 a.m. in St. Martha's Church, Fairmont Springs. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in the parish cemetery. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 8 a.m. to the time of the service at the funeral home
on Tuesday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
