YATESVILLE- In the opening game of the Greater Pittston Area Holiday
Tournament, the Wyoming Seminary Lady Blue Knights, led by Brooke Shuler's
game-high 29 points, beat Wyoming Area, 58-47. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In the second game, Seton Catholic got 25 points from Laine Sheerer and 23
from Kelly Tracy to defeat Pittston Area, 67-59. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Seton will meet Seminary in the championship game tonight, while Pittston
Area and Wyoming Area will play in the consolation game. Action gets under way
at 6:30 p.m. at Pittston Area High School &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "I'm very happy with the win, we played like a team," said Seminary coach
Agnes Cesare of her team's victory in the first game. "This is the first time
this season we've seen them play like this- they were looking for one another
and passing the ball well." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Seminary's Shuler had a blistering first quarter as she hit on four shots,
including two three-pointers, to score 11. She added three in the second, nine
in the third and six in the fourth to finish the evening with 29. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "Brooke really took charge out there," said Cesare. "As the point guard, we
look to her for leadership, and she's been stepping it up this year." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Gia Jackson added 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Lady Blue Knights,
while Megan Brumagin scored seven. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "We only have two starters from last year's squad," said Cesare, who starts
four sophomores and one junior. "So we're still finding out how to play
together, but our prospects for the season are looking pretty good." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 For a while it looked as if Seton Catholic might run away with the second
game as the Lady Eagles led by 18 at the intermission. But after being
outscored by the Patriettes 17-9 in the third period and 9-3 in the opening
minutes of the fourth, the lead was cut to only four with 4:46 left to play. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 But the Lady Eagles held off the surging Patriettes and ended up winning by
eight. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "We didn't play up to our potential tonight," said Seton coach Kathy
Healey. "We have to play our absolute best every game because everyone is
gunning for us. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "Pittston went on a nice run (in the second half)," continued Healey. "They
have some nice outside shooters, and they were hitting in the second half." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 After watching the lead dwindle away, Seton's Sheerer stepped it up in the
closing minutes as she sank three baskets and converted 3 of 6 from the foul
line, finishing the night with 25 to lead the Eagles. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Other high scorers for Seton Catholic included Kelly Tracy, who made four
three-pointers en route to 23, and Melissa Kenia, who chipped in with 11. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Patriettes had four players in double digits: Chris Munski with 15,
Temra Emlaw with 13, and Nicole Tieso and Jamie Meade, who each scored 12. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "It should be a very good game," said Healey of today's matchup with
Wyoming Seminary for the tournament title. "Seminary is a well-coached, very
good team and we look forward to the challenge." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
