 During 1997, the "all volunteer" fire company responded to over 60 calls
for help. Nearly 1000 fund drive appeals will be mailed to residents, property
owners and businesses throughout the Maltby section of Swoyersville. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 Voters to host breakfast &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The ninth annual legislative breakfast sponsored by the League of Women
Voters of the Wilkes-Barre Area will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Jan. 24
in the Ramada Plaza Hotel, Wilkes-Barre. The public is invited to attend.

 The legislators will participate in an open informal discussion with their
constituents during breakfast, followed by an interview segment addressing the
following issues: Campaign Reform- Code of Conduct, Land use management- water
resources, Welfare Reform- economic independence. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
