SPECIAL OLYMPICS TOURNAMENT SET: Special Olympics of Luzerne County will
host an invitational Bowling Tournament on Saturday at Chacko's East Bowling
LanesThe tournament is sponsored by the Wilkes-Barre Fireman's Athletic
Association. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Approximately 110 Special Olympics athletes will compete and thirteen
bowlers from this group will participate in the Pennsylvania Special Olympics
Eastern Sectional Bowling Tournament April 25 in Allentown. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I.C.B.I.Y. PASSES TEST: I.C.B.I.Y. defeated Galland, Steinhauer, and Repa
15-3, 17-15, 17-15 to remain in first-place in the Wilkes-Barre Department of
Recreation &amp; Parks Women's Volleyball League. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Whiskey Business defeated Dougherty's 3 games to 0, Anthracite Cafe
defeated Who Cares 2-1, and Flaherty's defeated Tammac Corp. 2-1. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I.C.B.I.Y. leads the league at 16-2 followed by Galland, Steinhauer, and
Repa at 12-6, Flaherty's and Whiskey Business tied 11-7, Tammac Corp. 9-9,
Anthracite Cafe 6-12, Dougherty's 5-13, and Who Cares 2-16. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 JCC BASKETBALL RESULTS: Billy Tenenbaum scored a game-high 13 points to
lead the JCC varsity over the College B team 34-29 in game one of the Lou
Gutterman College Basketball Tournament. Mikey Feder led the College B team
with nine points. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In the second game Curtis Lloyd had 25 and Joey Ellman added 20 for the
College A team in a 82-74 win over the Senior Men All-Stars. David Feder led
the Senior Men with 18. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In the Senior Men's League Bruce Weinstock scored 46 to lead Crystal Vision
over Wet Paint T-Shirts 103-98. David Feder led the Painters with 56, which is
this year's single game record. In game two, Jeff Yelen tossed-in 21 to lead
the River Street Jazz Cafe over Man Levi &amp; Nogi Insurance 71-66. Harvey Reiser
led the Insurance Men 16. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Kevin Feifer scored 16 and Joe Finkel added 12 as Dr. Martin Fried defeated
Tenenbaum Travel 42-37 in High School League action. Billy Tenenbaum led
Tenenbaum Travel with 16. In game two, Feifer and Justin R. Ruffin combined
for 26 in a 43-42 Dr. Martin Fried win over Fox Studios. Seth Kaufer led the
Foxes with 20. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Dan Vineski scored 11 points to lead Dr. David Greenwald over Dr. Peter
Feinstein 20-19 in Inter League play. Ryan Moss and David Lantz led the
Scopers with 4 each. Cory Norton and Adam Kaufer each scored 11 to lead
Prudential Securities over Dr. Brown Eye Care at NEI 37-26 in game two. Jason
Brown led the Glassmen with 10. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Sara Brown scored a career-high nine points for Dr. Robert Engel in a 15-14
win over Ramada Inn on the Square. Ross Feinstein led the Innkeepers with 11.
In game two, Hannah Beswick scored a career-high 13 points to lead Dr. Bruce
Saidman over A. Rifkin Co. 23-9. Dan Lantz led the Bagmen with 5. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 BACK MOUNTAIN BASEBALL SETS SIGN-UPS: Back Mountain Baseball, Inc. will
hold registration for the 1998 baseball and softball season from 9 a.m.-noon
Jan. 24, at the Dallas Middle School. The snow date for this registration will
be Jan. 31. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Registration is for all boys and girls ages 6 through 15. Cost of
registration is $35 for the first child, $15 for the second child, and $10 for
each additional child. All players must bring their Social Security card and
all first-time players must bring their original birth certificate. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Anyone interested in becoming a manager, coach, umpire or league volunteer
is encouraged to attend. All potential managers and coaches must consent to a
background check. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 HANOVER AREA AT WVW GRAPPLERS SET: The Hanover Area at Wyoming Valley West
wrestling match, originally scheduled Dec. 22, is slated for 7 p.m. Jan. 27 at
Valley West. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 YMCA SWIMMERS DEFEAT HAZLETON: The Wilkes-Barre YMCA improved to 4-0 on the
season after a win Saturday against Hazleton. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Annie Artilla and Abby Pisacano led the 15 and over age group with two
individual first-place finishes each and Cheryl Kirkwood added a first in the
200 I.M. Kelly Chamberlain took firsts in three events for the U-14 team while
Shana Welch had two firsts and Selina Cooney added one. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
