Joseph McAndrew &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 January 17, 1998 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Joseph F. McAndrew, 74, of Park Street, Taylor, died Saturday at the Mercy &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Hospital, ScrantonBorn in Pittston, he was the son of the late John and
Mary Carter McAndrew. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He lived in Taylor for the past 39 years and was a previous resident of
Pittston. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He graduated from St. John's High School, Pittston, and also the West Side
Vocational-Technical School, where he was first in his class and was a
recipient of the Golden Hammer. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a self-employed general contractor. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Taylor. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of the Old Forge Lions Club, where he was past president
and recipient of the Lion of the Year Award. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are his wife, the former Jean Llewellyn, whom he married on June
14, 1958; sons James H. Martin, Taylor; Michael L. Martin, West Palm Beach,
Fla.; Scott D. Martin, Boston; daughter, Joanne Gabriel, Taylor; three
grandchildren; sister, Theresa Anderson, Hughestown; several nieces and
nephews. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday from the Palermo and Zawacki
Funeral Home Inc., 409 N. Main St., Old Forge, with a Mass of Christian Burial
at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Pittston. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in the Abington Hills Cemetery, Clarks Summit. &amp;
