 February 4, 1998 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Joseph M. Hrycyna, 70, of Elizabeth Street, Pittston, died Wednesday at
Penn &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 State Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains TownshipBorn June 22,
1927, in Swoyersville, he was son of the late Charles and Mary Hossick
Hrycyna. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He attended Swoyersville public schools and was a U.S. Army veteran. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Before he retired, he was employed in the coal mines for 30 years. He was
last employed as a security guard at Penn State Geisinger Wyoming Valley
Medical Center for nine years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of the American Legion Post 452 Mildred Post; the
Swoyersville Rod &amp; Gun Club; and St. Rocco's Church, Pittston. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He hunted in Lopez for 46 years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna De Grose Hrycyna, in 1985;
brothers George, Walter and John; and sisters Josephine Hrycyna, Agnes Vasko
and Margaret Ferrence. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving a brother, Daniel Retzena (Hrycyna), Forty Fort; a sister, Marion
Ulichney, Swoyersville; and se
