 I wonder if you can find out from the mayor or his mouthpiece, Shannon &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; McNulty, when they are gonna fix the potholes on Coal Street, from the &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Wilkes-Barre Township line on down to Wilkes-Barre Boulevard. Coal Street
looks like it was land-mined. I'm gonna send the city a bill for realignment
of my carThe only reason Bill Clinton is in this terrible mess is because he
did not accept the offer of Ted Kennedy to drive Monica home. ... Ronald
Reagan is known as the great communicator. Bill Clinton will be remember as
the great fornicator. Character counts, stupid. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I'd like to know if there's any rent control in Kingston or Wilkes-Barre.
It seems like the rental places keep getting higher and unaffordable. Why?
Does anyone else think so? Also, I'm glad someone called in about your
sarcastic comment. Maybe you can let up on the comments a little bit, and from
what I've been reading, I think you're a female, so how about making some
positive comments every once in a while. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 I'd like to give the Wilkes-Barre Police Department some more information
where to give out tickets to get some more money for the city. Well, just
visit ... Miners Mills any Friday or Saturday night. There's plenty of parking
on the sidewalks and you have to walk in the street just to get around these
vehicles, and it's very dangerous. So, we'll see if the Wilkes-Barre police
does the job in the future. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Ah shucks, Mayor McGroarty, I'm so disappointed at you. I'm telling you,
you really left me down. I picked the paper up today, I wanted to see you with
your arms around Clinton like Monica Lewinsky, and you didn't do it. What
happened, did he push you away or what? Oh, at least you have a smile on your
face, so, I guess it's better then nothing. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 One of the lamest columns I've ever seen in print is in the Citizens'
Voice, Sunday edition, which contains "The Ear Hears." I'm not sure, but I
think is supposed to be a take on a sort of local Larry King, with a stream of
conscience style of writing. How thought-provoking. Here's an idea, I could
write a weekly column for The Times Leader called "The Nose Knows." Instead of
calling SAYSO, I could be in print and still hide behind anonymity with a
picture of my nose. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I'll believe the groundhog over Tom Clark any day. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I noticed Pat Judge's article in the Citizens' Voice, he's complaining
about The Times Leader. It shows he's capable of being a parts store clerk,
instead of a vice chairman for a political party. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The people of America don't care about President Clinton's immorality, as
long as the economy is good. Aren't we selling our souls for a couple pieces
of silver? &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I think Luzerne County wouldn't be so famous for the stupidity of its
residents, if you wouldn't publish letters like the one in the Mail Bag from
the guy who thinks unprofessional conduct, adultery and being pro-choice are
grounds for impeachment. Think about it. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A response about class trips being educational. I'm from (an area school
district). Our primary center and intermediate are sent on trips sponsored by
the PTO. Years ago we went to places like the Philadelphia Zoo, which is fine.
The past two years was Knoebels Amusement Park, now we see it will be Knoebels
again for the third straight year. Once is fine, but year after year, it's
boring. Kids can go their with their families any old time. I've been at the
PTO meetings when ideas were brought up for trips to Scranton and other not
too distant places that were educational, they were frowned up and voted down,
one reason is because it's much easier to prepare for this "supposedly fun
trip." After telling some kids, beside my own that it's Knoebels again this
year, many said that they were going to skip it and stay home. Some fun. Let's
get back to the fun educational trips that these kids find fascinating, and
may never have had the chance to see. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 As I was looking at the paper today, I turned to the television section and
to my great surprise, I love the new television lineup, the new grid, with all
the different channels. The Stars Channel, VH1, MTV, it's great to have
channels that you can read and that are listed. Thank you very much. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I live in Springtown, here in Dorrance Township, and my crocuses, my
tulips, my daffodils. All my spring flowers are coming up. I wonder if all
those weather forecasters are predicting an early spring. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 How come you only print pros on Martin Luther King and the black issues? &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I recently had an auto problem on my way home from work and I was really
stranded. I don't think that our youth get enough recognition for the nice
things they do. It turned out that a young man from Nanticoke, a student at
Nanticoke High School, came to my aid and he was very very nice to me and very
helpful. I'm a senior citizen and I was so grateful that he helped me. I would
like to thank him publicly. He's a junior from Nanticoke High School. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I met a little boy the other day in the playground. He had a T-shirt on
about this DARE program. I asked him what it was about and he told me he
graduated from a DARE program, which is a drug program in school. I thought
that was great. The problem I have is the city gave those shirts out, which is
fine, but why is my tax dollars going to put Mayor Tom McGroarty's name on
that shirt? My tax dollars shouldn't go to advertise him. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 This is an answer to the editor's note, what makes us think blacks
supported O.J. Simpson. A black jury found Simpson innocent and he's walking
around free. Show me any other American who murdered two people and is walking
around free. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 On Thursday, Jan. 29, I made a reservation at (name deleted) restaurant for
a large party for dinner. There was a bit of a mixup but they treated us as if
they didn't even care if we ate there or not. The woman doing the seating was
the rudest, most arrogant person I ever met. I make these reservations once a
month for an approximate party of eight at different restaurants and never
have we been treated as poorly as we were last night. The waiting staff was
great. It was just the woman who does the seating. I once heard it takes a
lifetime to keep a good customer and only a minute to lose one. Well, they
lost nine last night and I'm going to tell all my friends and they will too. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 Thank you for the terrific coverage on the Pope's visit to Cuba. Also,
thank you for the coverage of the pro-life march in Washington, D.C., although
I think you could have expanded a little more. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I'm calling because it's another wet, miserable Friday morning. I'm about
to load my trunk with three bins of recyclable plastic and glass, two bundles
of newspapers and one bundle of magazines. Why are the West Pittston recycling
trucks sitting in the garage waiting for residents to bring recyclables to it?
Why can't West Pittston have curbside pickup like surrounding towns that pay
lower taxes? &amp;
