Wilkes-Barre ignores contribution of college students to city's tax base &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I have had enough. Whenever I read an article about the lack of foresight
and planning by city officials, I am bemused by the lame response to the
backlashAfter the requisite gnashing of teeth and apologies to those involved,
the city tries to reach an accommodation with the complainants- except when
the citizens affected happen to be Wilkes University students. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The often-repeated sop here is "We're concerned with the taxpayers in the
city." Aren't Wilkes students (or their parents) taxpayers? Don't all citizens
contribute to the commonwealth by dint of federal and commonwealth taxes?
Hasn't Wilkes-Barre been the beneficiary of federal or state aid? &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
