PITTSTON- The District 2 girls basketball pairings were announced Monday
... sort of. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Lackawanna League still has two playoff games to play that will affect
the postseason. Those games will be played today at Dunmore High School. At
6:30 p.m., Riverside (10-10) will play Montrose (10-13) for the eighth seed in
the Class AA playoffs. At 8 p.m., Wallenpaupack (14-10) and Valley View (15-8)
meet for the Lackawanna North Division title. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; What is known is that 10 Wyoming Valley Conference teams will be in action
Friday when play begins in four classifications. Three WVC teams have byes and
will play Wednesday, Feb. 25. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Sites and times for next week's games will be announced at a later date. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Admission to all games is $5 for adults and $3 for students in advance. All
tickets at the door are $5. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Here's a look at the four tournaments: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Class A &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The six-team tournament begins Friday with two games. Fourth-seeded Bishop
O'Hara (14-8) and fifth-seeded Northwest (11-11) play at 6:30 p.m. at Wyoming
Area High School in Exeter. Third-seeded Forest City (13-10) plays
sixth-seeded Susquehanna (10-14) at 6:30 p.m. at Riverside High School in
Taylor. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Top-seeded Seton Catholic (21-2) and second-seeded Bishop Hafey (15-8) will
be in action Wednesday, Feb. 25. Seton plays the winner of the O'Hara vs.
Northwest game. Hafey faces the Forest City vs. Susquehanna winner. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The championship and third-place games are Saturday, Feb. 28. Three teams
advance to states. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Class AA &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Four games will be played Friday in the eight-team tourney. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 At Tunkhannock High School, second-seeded Mountain View (19-6) plays
seventh-seeded Bishop O'Reilly (11-13) at 6:30 p.m. Top-seeded Elk Lake (24-2)
plays the eighth seed, the Montrose vs. Riverside winner, at 8 p.m. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Third-seeded Meyers (20-5) plays sixth-seeded Bishop Hoban (16-8) at 8 p.m.
at Wyoming Area High School in Exeter. Fourth-seeded Carbondale (14-11) and
fifth-seeded Bishop Hannan (16-7) play at 8 p.m. at Riverside High School in
Taylor. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The semifinals will be Wednesday, Feb. 25. The Elk Lake vs.
Riverside/Montrose winner plays the Carbondale vs. Hannan winner. The Mountain
View vs. O'Reilly winner faces the Meyers vs. Hoban winner. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The championship and third-place games are Saturday, Feb. 28. Three teams
advance to states. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Class AAA &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The following seeds have been determined- Berwick (22-1) is No. 1,
Nanticoke (14-9) is No. 5 and Wyoming Area (15-9) is No. 6. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The three other seeds will depend on tonight's Wallenpaupack vs. Valley
View game. If Wallenpaupack wins, the remaining seeds will be: No. 2,
Lake-Lehman (16-9); No. 3 Wallenpaupack (14-10); and No. 4, Valley View
(15-8). If Valley View wins, it will be the No. 2 seed, Lehman will be third
and Wallenpaupack fourth. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 If Wallenpaupack wins, Friday's first-round games will be: Wallenpaupack
vs. Wyoming Area, 8 p.m., Dunmore High School; and Valley View vs. Nanticoke,
6:30 p.m., Dunmore High School. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Berwick and Lehman would then have first-round byes and play Wednesday,
Feb. 25. Berwick would play the Valley View vs. Nanticoke winner. Lehman would
face the Wallenpaupack vs. Wyoming Area. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 If Valley View wins, Friday's games will be: Lehman vs. Wyoming Area, 7
p.m. Bishop Hoban High School; and Wallenpaupack vs. Nanticoke, 7 p.m.,
Dunmore High School. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Berwick would then play the Wallenpaupack vs. Nanticoke winner on
Wednesday, Feb. 25. Valley View would play the Lehman vs. Wyoming Area winner. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The title game is Saturday, Feb. 28. Both teams will advance to the state
playoffs. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Class AAAA &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
