Abortion blasphemes God's gift of life and the promise of Christmas What
may one say of Christmas that has not already been put to paper, recited or
sung? &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Poets and apostles alike have ever published its praises, proclaiming the
hope and peace of that miraculous birth one night nearly 2,000 years ago. So
exclusively magnificent and momentous an event, however, warrants the
retelling; and pray God, it always willIf on that first Christmas Eve, the
innkeeper had realized just who it was who stood inquiring at his door, if he
had been aware of the honor and esteem being afforded him, if he had
understood the unique blessing that might have been his, certainly, he would
have welcomed his guests, offering every accommodation- even sacrificing his
own personal comfort and convenience. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Every birth is not unlike a "little Christmas" whereby the unborn come to
the inn- to us- knocking, seeking, asking that their lives continue, that the
promise of their personhood be fulfilled. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 When they are denied this by abortion, the world is made poorer- never to
know what happiness was lost, what comfort was turned away; what love died
with them. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 By refusing to respect the miracle of life, we return, unopened, heaven's
greatest gift; for, it is by almighty design that we are created, and crafted,
fashioned in God's own image and good time. Abortion dishonors the hand of God
by defying his clear command to "choose life." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Sadly, the world today has lost the way to Bethlehem by choosing not to
follow the star. Instead, we wander the desert of self, trusting to our own
failing light. Unless and until we lift our eyes once more, the unborn will
continue to perish one every 20 seconds, ever
