After wrapping up the Wyoming Valley Conference schedule with just one
loss, it is no surprise that Lake-Lehman dominates the Division I soccer
all-star team. Coaches voted five Black Knights to the team. They are seniors
Russ Mosier, Brian Noler, Tony VanScoy and Tom Brislin and sophomore David
Walters. Bishop O'Reilly forward Charlie Bustin, a senior who scored 29 of the
Queensmen's 43 goals and doubled as the placekicker for the football team, was
named the league's most valuable player. Mosier, Lake-Lehman's keeper, gave up
just 13 goals during 18 regular-season games. ``Russ is definitely the best
keeper in the league,'' Dallas coach Chris Scharff said. ``He is very quick,
has good size, a long arm span, good reflexes and can punt the ball about 75
yards. That is every quality you look for in a keeper.'' Walters, one of only
two sophomores on the Division I honor squad, led the division in assists with
20 and added seven goals. ``David is one of the best skill players in the
entire conference as just a sophomore,'' Scharff said. ``He has great field
vision and is an outstanding passer.'' VanScoy, a forward, led the team with
23 goals and 53 points. Brislin added 41 points, and Noler was Lehman's top
defensive player. Wyoming Valley West's Greg Castellani scored 33 goals and
led the division with 77 points. ``Greg was 50 percent of our offense this
season,'' said Valley West coach Ted Tsioles. ``Our opponents' game plan was
always to stop him. If you stop Greg Castellani you could beat Wyoming Valley
West, that is how important he was.'' Dallas, a state Class 2A semifinalist
which eliminated Lake-Lehman in the District 2 finals, had two players on the
team: midfielder Jesse Williams and defender/midfielder Andrew George. As the
team's only senior, Williams was the captain and team leader. George was a
stingy defender who shut down top scoring threats throughout the district and
state playoffs. ``For us, Andrew is the complete package,'' Scharff said. ``He
played mostly midfield and defense for us, but if we put him at forward, he is
the kind of player that could score 30 goals in a season. Defensively, he
could cover anybody in the state.'' Crestwood senior Mike Campagna and
Abington Heights senior E.T. Hunter round out the team. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; WVC soccer &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
