Wilkes-Barre Area Board OKs 3 dozen teacher layoffs for consolidation

Conceding it was a painful move made doubly so amid a pandemic, the Wilkes-Barre Area School Board on Monday approved layoffs that could put more than three dozen teachers out of work as part of high school consolidation and a district-wide grade reconfiguration set to take place this fall.
